Description
The First Universalist church was built in 1867 in City Square, Biddeford. In 1954 the steeple was lowered due to damage sustained by hurricanes Carol and Edna. The Soldier's Monument in front was erected in 1887 as a memorial to the city's veterans of the Civil War (1861-1865). The building was sold in 1971 and is now the site of a bank.
