Eastland Hotel, Portland, ca. 1940

Description

The Eastland was conceived and built by Henry P. Rines in 1927.

Rines and his wife, Adeline, were frequent travelers to Europe and the Middle East. The lobby and restaurants of their new hotel were fashioned after favorite locations abroad including some in Denmark, Spain and Egypt.
