Description
Charles Allbee opened his clothing store and tailor shop on Washington Street in Sanford in the 1880s after being in business with his brother Benjamin F. in Milton Mills, New Hampshire.
In 1891 Benjamin joined Charles in Sanford and the firm name was changed to Allbee Brothers. It remained Allbee Brothers until 1902 when Benjamin became the sole proprietor.
Charles is presumably the man standing in the doorway. The others have not been identified. Charles was active in local affairs and served as town clerk of Sanford from 1894 to 1900.
