Contributed by an individual through Skowhegan History House
Description
The Dodge Block building was constructed in 1914. Over a long period of time the premises have housed some of Skowhegan's most prominent businesses including Stearn's Department Store and the Village Candlelight Restaurant. This image shows part of the building being used as Republican Party Headquarters. Dating is made possible by reading the posters in the window, which ask voters to "Vote for Charles E. Hughes for President." Hughes lost the election to Woodrow Wilson in 1916. Therefore this photo must date to the summer of that year.
