Description
Annie Louise Cary was born in Wayne in 1842. She was one of America's favorite singers during the latter part of the 19th and early part of the 20th century. She excelled in opera and ballad singing.
She graduated from the Gorham Female Seminary in 1860, and studied voice in Germany. She sang in operas worldwide. She stopped singing professionally after her marriage in 1882. She died in 1921.
