Description
The Cottage for Women at the Maine State Sanatorium for Pulmonary Diseases in Hebron under construction.
The postcard message to the right reads, "Friend Lottie:- When this place is finished I will be in, every thing fine and dandy Hal." The postcard is addressed to Miss Lottie E. Pride, 418 Pearl St., Portland.
The sanatorium was founded in 1901, opened in 1904 and became part of a state system of facilities to treat tuberculosis in 1915. At that point, it was renamed the Western Maine Sanatorium.
