Description
The cover of a booklet of postcard-size images of the Maine State Sanatorium in Hebron, a privately operated facility to treat people with tuberculosis.
The sanatorium was incorporated in 1901. It treated people with plenty of fresh air, rest, and a diet rich in calories.
It became part of the state health system in 1915.
