Description
Six months before his death, Josiah Pierce of Gorham wrote to his sister Hannah Pierce in Baldwin, thanking her for making socks for him and thanking her for her many kindnesses over the years, especially for making items for him before his marriage.
He also writes about his son Josiah, who was in diplomatic service in St. Petersburg, Russia.
