Description
Hannah Pierce was admitted to the Philomadelphoi Society, which embraced "every opportunity to encourage female Education." Admitting members who were "Ladies of Merit" helped further their cause.
Membership entitled Pierce to take books from the organization's library.
The certificate is signed by Bezaleel Cushman, president, who was the principal at Bridgton Academy.
