Description
Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) of Gorham wrote to his sister Hannah Pierce (1788-1866) of Baldwin advising her about installing an aqueduct between her farm and that of a neighbor.
He cautioned her about tapping into the neighbor's spring or his water system because her own water supply might be threatened in the future. He recommended she have a well drilled instead.
