Pierce farm issues, Baldwin, 1855

Description

Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) of Baldwin reported in a letter to her brother Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) of Gorham the status of her farm.

Hannah, who was single, lived on the family homestead built by her father, Josiah Pierce (1756-1830).

She reports that her nephew, Charles Freeman, spent six months on the farm, then left. She asks her brother to secure seed for her.
