Description
Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) of Baldwin writes to her brother Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) about the illness and impending death of their younger brother Daniel Pierce (1803-1856).
Daniel, who apparently had a drinking problem, had moved west to Michigan.
She wrote, "It almost breaks my heart to think how sad and trying the last half of his life has been."
