Description
Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) of Gorham wrote to his sister Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) of Baldwin to inform her of the death of their nephew Arthur Pierce (1846-1865) in Murfreesburg, Tennessee.
Josiah presumed he had died of a fever. Arthur was the son of Hannah and Josiah's brother Daniel (1803-1826) and Frances Lewis Pierce. He was the youngest of their children.
He also mentions the death of Dr. Waterman, the father-in-law of one of Josiah's daughters.
