Description

Ruins of the Somesville fire in Saco, September 15, 1908; one of the most destructive in Saco and Biddeford's history. Somesville was a section of Saco on the bank of the Saco River across the Somes Bridge from Spring's Island. The cause seems to have been someone smoking in the Diamond Match Company's lumberyard.
