Description
Hannah Pierce (1788-1873), away at school in Bridgton, wrote to her sister Nancy in Baldwin. She asked how she liked being the "oldest girl," since Hannah and Ruth were both away from home.
She also commented on Nancy going to school in Baldwin before attending Bridgton Academy. Hannah wrote, "I know of nothing which deserves cultivating so much as the human mind."
