Description
George Pierce (1805-1835), studying at Saco Academy, wrote to his brother Josiah in Portland describing the books he was reading.
Josiah, seven years older than George, graduated from Bowdoin College in 1818 and George, who planned to enter Bowdoin in the fall of 1821, frequently wrote to Josiah about books and his studies.
