George Pierce on attending Bowdoin, Saco, 1821

Description

George Pierce of Baldwin, attending school at Saco Academy, wrote to his brother Josiah Pierce of Portland, expressing his hope that he would be admitted to Bowdoin College.

He wrote, "if I don't [get admitted] it will be a terrible jolt."

He also discussed his upcoming exams at Saco.
