Description
John Marshall Brown of Portland, son of sugar manufacturer J.B. Brown, wrote to his sister, Ellen (Nellie), who apparently was traveling overseas. In the letter, he described his new roommate, Charles Pincher.
Brown was in his second to last semester at Bowdoin College in the spring of 1860.
