Description
Capt. Henry W. (Harry) Lyon of Paris Hill in uniform during World War II.
Lyon had been a seaman, ship captain, and World War I Navy Reserve officer. He was the navigator aboard the Southern Cross, which made the first trans-Pacific flight in 1928.
In World War II he was given command of the War Shipping Administration cargo vessel USS James G. Blaine.
