Description
A model of the Project Telstar antenna, the Bell System's experimental satellite communication project launched in 1962. In reality, the antenna is housed in a radome, a large bubble-shaped building, the back of which is visible in the model.
The actual antenna is 177 feet long, 90 feet high and weighs 340 tons.
The whole structure is anchored in bedrock in Andover.
