Description
The Rickers received a request for information about water to cure an ill person.
The card reads, "W. Waterville Feb 4th 1882 Hiram Ricker & Sons -- Gents -- I have a sick daughter, and her friends are anxious for her to try Poland Mineral Water and I write to get your price list, and wish to get ten or twenty gallons for her to try it, and will forward the money with the order and be a regular customer if it proves useful Isaiah James West Waterville Maine NB Pleas drop me a line at your earliest convenience I. James."
The family began selling its Poland Mineral Spring Water in 1845 after several family members and others were cured of afflictions after drinking the water.
