Description
The Maine Central Railroad Depot in Portland, with Engine #145 on the tracks.
Maine Central had more than 1,000 miles of tracks along the seacoast and through the mountain of New Hampshire and Vermont into Canada.
The railroad was chartered in 1856 and began operations by 1862.
