Description
A "Tooti Bag" souvenir from the 1964 Republican National Convention. It is bean-bag with a yellow satin tag attached that is stampled "M.C. Smith 64" in black ink.
The bag is filled with granulated crystalline silicon dioxide and can be heated and used as a heating pad.
Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith sought the presidency in 1964. She was the first woman to have her name placed in nomination by a major political party.
