Description
While living in Copenhagen in 1810, George Barrell sent this ring to his father, Nathaniel, of York.
The ring contains a sample of George's hair intertwined with his mother's.
In a letter accompanying the ring the son wrote, "I hope it will suit you to wear it as a trifling token of the affection of your youngest child, who far from you ceases not to recollect with undiminished affection, one of the best of parents."
