Description

In 1874 Charles W. Stimpson and his wife, Loretta Fish Stimpson purchased the land on which the Thomaston Bank was located on Main Street and built a two-unit brick block with a shared west wall of the Union Block.

Several businesses have used these stores over the years. In 1880 A. Goudy was in the westernmost store, next to Thomaston Bank, the law office of A.P. Gould, and the Thomaston Post Office.
