Description

U.S. Rep. William Cohen, a Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee, discusses the issues of the Nixon White House tapes and how the committee might be able to hear those tapes. The committee was holding impeachment hearings.

During the hearings, committee members learned of the existence of the tapes and believed that listening to the tapes would answer questions about whether Nixon or other high-level officials knew about the Watergate break-in and subsequent cover-up.
