Description
This large compass was used on Islesboro's Governor Brann and Governor Muskie ferries. It is floating is alcohol and contained in a wooden box, made by Captain Stanwood Hinkley. Hinkley became captain of the Governor Brann in 1947 and captain of the Governor Muskie when it replaced the Brann in 1959.
