Boning Knife, Islesboro, ca. 1800

Description

This homemade fish cleaning knife is said to have been owned by Samuel Warren, an early settler of Islesboro. The round wooden handle allowed the knife to float.

Initials carved into handle, "J W." Could be James, Jeremiah or John Warren, all descendants of Samuel.
