Description
While the Aroostook Valley Railroad (AVR) offered passenger service, its primary purpose was to provide freight transport in the region. This photo shows trolley 51 in front of the Presque Isle passenger depot located along the Prestile (Presque Isle) Stream on the corner of State and Riverside Drive. Of the three railroads that once served Presque Isle, the AVR passenger depot is the only one that still exists.
