Description
The dam across the Prestile (Presque Isle) Stream provided meager electricity to residents in the early years of Presque Isle as well as providing a means to bring lumber to the mill located at the sight. Presque Isle founder, Dennis Fairbanks, owned the original mill here and had a wooden bridge built to cross the stream. In 1907, Arthur Gould provided seed money to replace the wooden bridge with a concrete one. The bridge can be seen in the background.
