Description
SS Gypsie was built in the early 1880s in Bangor. It was the first excursion boat on the Penobscot River with the Hampden Steamboat Wharf at the end of Ferry Street being one of the stops.
This photograph was taken in the 1890s and shows the Gypsie traveling west from Orrington to Hampden.
