Description
The ferry Eastport, operated by the Passamaquoddy Ferry Company, was one of the vessels that carried passengers between Eastport, North Lubec, Lubec, and Campobello Island. The Passamaquoddy Ferry Company was founded in 1882 by Julius Wolff, Patrick Gillise and Bion M. Pike.
The Eastport was built in Dennysville in 1901 by Lyman Pushee and, in addition to transporting passengers between towns, made harbor excursions. The vessel operated as a ferry until 1924.
Bearing a one cent stamp, this photo postcard was addressed to Mrs. M. F. Reynolds, Lubec, Maine and postmarked September 6, 1910.
