Description
George Washington Pierce wrote to his parents in Baldwin about a visit to Portsmouth, Boston and Woburn, Massachusetts.
Pierce, a graduate of Bowdoin College and a lawyer, reported on his visit with members of the Baldwin family. His father, Josiah Pierce, had been partners with Loammi Baldwin in the settlement of Flintstown, which became Baldwin, Maine.
