Description
Timothy Flint (1780-1840) of Cincinnati, a writer and editor of the Western Monthly Review, wrote to George Washington Pierce, a lawyer in Portland, telling him of the news in Cincinnati.
Pierce had spent 15 days in Cincinnati earlier in 1829, looking for a site to open his law practice. He eventually decided to return to Maine and practice law in Portland.
Flint's letter refers to John Neal's comments about Flint's latest work. Neal, of Portland, was a literary critic and arts supporter.
