Description
Neal Dow of Portland wrote to George W. Pierce, a student at Bowdoin College.
He suggested Pierce read the Spectator, telling him "it will amuse and at the same time instruct you . . ."
Dow closed by saying he kept his letter to one page, apparently Pierce's limit for letters.
