Description
George W. Pierce, a student at Bowdoin College, wrote to his sisters in Baldwin about a fire at Bowdoin that burned a college dormitory.
Pierce note that he was fortunate to be living in private housing at the time of the fire.
He had previously written to his brother Josiah, who graduated from Bowdoin in 1818, about the fire.
