Description
Samuel Freeman of Limerick wrote to his half-sister, Phebe Elisabeth Freeman Sanborn in Boston, offering to buy some carpeting from her, filling her in on family news and discussing the beauty of Limerick.
He wrote, "I think Limerick is, or is capable of being one of the most beautiful towns in the country." He went on to say that those who could see it would not desire to go west or be drawn to the "golden fever of California."
