Description
Daniel Pierce (1803-1859) of Orion, Michigan, writes to his sister Hannah Pierce (1788-1873), explaining why he is staying in Michigan. He had planned to return to Maine earlier that year.
Daniel notes, "I will frankly acknowledge that it was a grand mistake of mine coming out here in the first place."
His wife, Frances Lewis Pierce (Fanny), writes her own message at the end of the letter.
