Description
William R. Keith (1799-1880) was born in Thomaston to Josiah and Sarah Robinson Keith. During his lifetime, he built many houses in Thomaston. He bought and sold considerable real estate, and was one of the founders, and was a life-long trustee of the Thomaston Bank at the Lower Corner, Thomaston's present business block.
He was instrumental in having thousands of elms set out along the village streets.
