Description
The scene is the road just above Quillcote, the summer home of educator and author Kate Douglas Wiggin, during the fair in August 1911.
The new automobiles are depicted in the picture with just one horse and buggy in the lower left corner. The Cape Cod house at the right was long the home of "Aunt Susan Sweet", a cheerful, witty lady who was the widow of Dr. William Sweet.
The larger house, whose side can be seen in the right rear, was the home of Dr. Charles B. Frothingham.
