Description
This unique presentation by the Women's Educational and Industrial Union in 1912 for the benefit of the children's playground fund, was devoted to scenes and characters from the novels of Charles Dickens.
Standing in the doorway under the sign "Buffin's Bower" is Mrs. George B. Goodwin dressed as Mrs. Boffin, " a high flyer at fashion," in an old time costume. The man is William W. McIntyre, dressed as Silas Wagg, the Buffin man-of-all-work.
