Description
This is a portrait of Anna Livermore Hamlin, daughter of Elijah and Hannah Clark Livermore, early settlers in the town of Livermore. Anna married Cyrus Hamlin in 1797 and moved with him and three children to Paris, Maine in 1806.
On August 27, 1809 she gave birth to her fifth child who was named Hannibal. Hannibal Hamlin became a representative to U.S. Congress from Hampden, U.S. Senator, Governor of Maine, and Vice President under Abraham Lincoln.
