Description
William Pepperrell of Kittery writes to an unidentified person, probably Christopher Kilby, agent to His Majesty's Province in Massachusetts Bay, about his voyage from Portsmouth, England, to Kittery, noting that a schooner is not the most appropriate ship for such a voyage. He ran into storms throughout the voyage.
He also writes about other business matters and includes a copy of another letter.
Pepperrell, a business man, was major in His Majesty's Forces when he successfully gained control of Louisbourg from the French in 1745.
