Description
Fishermen in dories arrive at Fish Beach on Monhegan, while a visitor (possibly an artist) awaits them holding an early film camera. Structures seen in the background include a side wall of William Studley's Fish House, Trefethren Store attached to George Trefethren's Fish House, and a corner of the Horn Fish House (1781).
The photograph is by marine artist Eric Hudson who was born in Boston and educated at Chauncey-Hall. He moved to Monhegan Island in 1898 and began photographing and painting all aspects of Island life.
