Description
East Turner school was located near the Turner Center Bridge. It was discontinued in 1897 and sold to Central Maine Power. The River Road from Keene's Mills to the Lower River was called East Turner. They called the school "Five Elms School." There was a brook by the school that overflowed every spring and the children had to be carried over it.
