Description

A scene of downtown Hallowell at the intersection of Central and Water Street (known as Beeman's Corner). Looking north buildings depicted are H.G. Turner Store, C.D Doe, Hallowell Market, and Wilson Hall. On the side of the H.G. Turner store a sign reads "We sell the celebrated Wilcox Hat, durability and color guaranteed. H.G. Turner one price to all." Many of the buildings have awnings. On the dirt street are many horse drawn carts, one has a large piece of white granite in it. Electrical lines are running down both sides of Water Street.
