Description

Lord Auto & Electric Company was located behind the Socony filling station on the southeast corner of Union and Water Streets.

Clifton Douglas Mosher sold Durand and Star cars there in the early 1930s before he established the C. D. Mosher Lumber Company on Granite Hill.

The decades-old L. W. Niles Livery Stable was located across the street, showcasing the past and future of transportation in Hallowell. The livery stable was originally owned by Allen D. Niles and after his death in 1888 the stable was taken over by his son, Luther Waite Niles.
