Description
The cover of the program to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of William Ladd of Minot and the 100th anniversary of his founding of the American Peace Society.
The observance was held in Minot Center, where Ladd had lived, on July 21, 1928.
Speakers were David Jayne Hill, former ambassador to Germany; Dr. A.D. Call, secretary of the American Peace Society in Washington, D.C.; and Dr. Yu-chuen James Yen, general director of the Chinese National Association of the Mass Education Movement.
At the ceremonies, a memorial tablet was unveiled by Maine Gov. Ralph Brewster, who also gave an address.
