Description
The locomotive was built by Hinckley & Drury, Boston, in 1848 for the Somerset Railroad, which in turn leased it to the Portland and Kennebec line. It then became Maine Central No 29. Run as a passenger train between Gardiner and Augusta, it was known as both "The Fly Train" and "The Dummy." The locomotive is shown here at the Hallowell depot.
