Description
Captain N.L. Humphrey's store pictured here, is also shown on the 1857 map of the area. By 1885 it had become the site of the John S. Adams & Son blacksmith shop. Hand-written on the matt and the reverse side, " Deacon Humphrey's Store." There is also a photographers stamp on the back reading "W.C. Rideout, Landscape Photographer, 276 Middle Street, Portland, Maine. Houses, Interiors, Groups etc."
